He first appeared to the Tribe of the Rainbow Boar in 1099AF. There he had no physical form and attempted to steal the dreams of the Boar in the form of the colours of the Rainbow that they represented.
Little seemed to affect him and this task completed he next appeared on Boar Isle, one of the many isles of Mauritania during the Autumn Accounting. He had gathered a large hoard of Orcs and Trolls to guard him and set about gathering the rods of the rainbow to sacrifice to a pit that bubbled with the blood of many souls.
During the many battles that took place between Monotone's forces and the Unicorns several brave Unicorns were dropped into the Blood pit and their souls consumed by it. These unlucky souls included Malice, the spymaster of the Unicorns. Eventually, Monotone managed to obtain 5 of the rods and, by dropping these into the Blood pit, summoned enough power to give himself a physical form.
He then disappeared, to reappear later at the Isle of Gavelle, during the next Unicorn meeting to declare his intended marriage to Malice's spirit and his takeover of Boar Isle, renaming it Blood Isle. He then invited the Unicorns to challenge him for it, during his marriage to Malice.
