Ghosts

Description

Ghosts, Spectres and Wraiths are all names for incorporeal undead. Incorporeal beings have no physical form and are immune to all physical blows and spells. However these beings should not be confused with ancestors or spirits of the land which are natural in origin.

These beings are usually pattern corrupted souls. Corrupted by their own inner corruption or by the hand of necromancers. Though they have no physical shell, they can sometimes use magical effects to affect those around them.

The strongest of these undead can sometimes transform their incorporeal shell, being able to inflict pattern corrupting damage to those around them. If they do this then they can then usually be disrupted (though often only temporarily) by enchanted or artefact weapons, or by High magic.

Strengths

Often incorporeal and so immune to physical attacks
Can use magic to affect those around them
Undead so usually immune to mental spells or effects
When materialised they can inflict Fatal wounds by touch.

Weaknesses

Cannot inflict physical damage when incorporeal
Can be disrupted when materialised by enchanted or artefact weapons, or by High magic.
