All the guilds teach their trusted and experienced members, skills beyond those available to basic characters. Although even within a guild, most skills will only be taught to those who have achieved a sufficient rank. Some guilds will also teach a selection of their specialist skills to characters who are not guild members, but who hold rank in a faction. In a few cases, guilds will teach anyone who is able to pay the price they set a skill or ability. Training in certain skills requires intensive effort, expensive ingredients or specific in character aptitude. These restricted skill are only taught to a select few each year. Skills that can only be taught to a few people each year are marked '@'.
The following descriptions list the abilities a character gains, the cost to guild members (and, if applicable, to character with faction rank or no rank) and the guilds that have access to each skill. All guilds train their own members in their skills; the guilds that teach skills to characters with faction rank or to generic characters are shown on the table Faction Skills and Generic skills.
Some occupational skills require a character to have one or more of the basic skills before the occupational skill can be purchased. Characters buying these occupational skills must keep the relevant basic skill(s); If they choose to drop the basic skill(s) for any reason, they will lose the use of the occupational skill until the basic skill reappears on their character card.
Number of OSP's you have
OSP tokens are issued for attending events and are not transferable to other players.
The OSP tokens you have been issued with are you for your use only.
With the database, booking system and returned OSP purchase sheets from Games Control and the Guilds, it is easy to cross reference to see if you have the correct number of OSP points to purchase the skill or skills.
Once checked the data will be added to your character file ready to appear on your character card for the following season.
If we find you have not earned enough OSP points, but have purchased the skill with other people's tokens, it will show up at this time.
We will not add the new skill to your character file.
If this occurs and some of the points used were yours, you will automatically lose those points off your character file.
Once purchased the OSP skill will appear on your card when you next book for a main LT event. OSP skills cannot be used until they appear on your card.
