"Heard it" in the Guild Hall

Winter 2000/2001

The Healers had a busy year. Started badly for them, with the destruction by fire of the guild Library in Lyon, they never found the culprits.

Ya right, seems many have fire problems lately.

Remember the attack on the Plane of Life by a void demon known as the Kcab 'Quel. I think that's what they were called.

Yeah and it it had not been for thoe Quel'Nath and the Factions help, where would the guild be now then, I ask ya?

In a bad way if you ask me!

Did you hear anything about that resuce of an ancient creature from a group of bandits.

The one who claims to be a Draconian?

Yeah that's him, slowly dying from an unknown cause. Strange thing from all accounts.

What about that new guild, the Archers, great timing if you ask me! To establish itself at the first Gathering held outside of the Heartlands.

Dogged by troubles too, from those mysterious figures the Hounds of Melanion, then there was the possession of Lady Talon by some ancestor and the loss of Rowan Batton their Guild Master to the War in the summerlands. Unlucky start you might say.

Have you heard their guild motto then?

No. How does it go then?

Like the arrow or the bolt we sail forward and strike true. All with a taste for adventure are welcome. Those with skill in Bow, Crossbow, Siege Engine and those of stout heart and arm seek the knowledge we bring.

Sounds like a flyer for a cider drinking contest if you ask me! "Drink Siege bow, you too can be down in one".

Shh! Lets listen to those two by the fire.

The sight of the Incantorws, Kitara chosen by the ancestors to lead our guild has fallen. Sacrifice of her life in the summerlands gave the resisting human and fey a chance against its plague of corruption and Undead.

Gwion, High Incantor to the Dragons faction has been chosen to lead our guild with the support of the guild's other leaders.

Pape, our advisors haev suffered losses and the eye's of our enemys turn once again to test the new guild leader and our older memebers. Faith must bind us and hold us as one.

What do you make of that then?

I hear the Bards were rather taken aback to find slave-traders offering great sums for them?

Yeah. Where they insulted or flattered by the amounts being offered?

I don't know, better ask teh new leader Varg Hellhammer, if you see him.

The Entertainers Comp had a lot of entrans this year and of a good qulaity too. Didn't get to see it all though. Do you know who won?

A poet, Tasmin McTassel, was overall winner with her captivating rendition of the story of the faithful hound, Gelert.

I heard the locals of Forever Tale were not very friendly to the Bards?

I heard they were looking for a pre-cataclysm library. The locals abhorring the written word, believing it helped cause the last Cataclysm.

Bet they didn't take kindly to Bards then and with them carrying books, writing implements and asking about a library too!
