These skills give your character a greater degree of insight into certain aspects of life in Erdreja.
Characters with these skills may collect an information sheet for each of the skills they have brought from Games Control at the Heartland Games, the Faction moots and the Gathering.
There is no limit to the number of general knowledge skills you can purchase, but individual skills may only be purchased once.
Each general knowledge skill costs 20 OSP's.
The table below shows the available general knowledge skills and gives a brief idea of the information a character with each skill will receive.

| Immunity to Mute Spell | |
| Pre-requisites: None | |
| A character with this skill is immune to all spells, powers and abilities of mute. This ability has no effect on the non-spell version of mute. |
| Morale | |
| Pre-requisites: None | |
| This skill allows the character to temporarily increase their power rank and that of one other character. While the character continues to perform, the power rank of a specific individual, who must be within hearing distance of the character using this skill (up to a range of thirty feet), is raised by two ranks. In addition, the power rank of the character using this skill is raised by one for as long as they continue to perform to the same individual. For example, if a character with a power rank of three uses morale on an individual with a power rank of two, the power rank of the character using this skill and that of the targeted individual are both increased to four for the duration of the effect. The character's performance must mention the targeted individual at regular intervals. If the character using this skill fails to mention the targeted character, the morale will be disrupted. If the character is affected by any spell, special effect or ability that prevents them from performing or from concentrating, or if the character using this skill takes any damage, the morale will then be disrupted. Blows blocked by any armour the character using this skill is wearing will not disrupt the morale. For safety reasons, characters using this skill are recommended not to take instruments into combat. |

| This skill allows a character to translate one named script (such as elvish) to common tongue. Lore sheets for each script can be collected from Games Control once this skill is on your character card. | |
| Access to the Great Library | |
| Pre-requisites: None | |
| The character gains the privilege of access to the Great Library of Norhault. The character may book an extended period of research at the library once during each main Lorien Trust event. Research forms can be obtained from the Bards guild and Games Control. This booking represents time the character has spent researching during the year although, in exceptional circumstances, limited research access may be granted during an event. The Great Library contains information on all subjects, but does not go into the level of detail available in the specialised faction and guild libraries. This skill does not allow the character to gain access to the Great Library of Magic. |
| Master Performer | |
| Pre-requisites: any income skill | |
| This skill allows a character who has also purchased an income skill to receive double the in character money normal given for an income skill of that level. For example, a character with this skill who also had an income skill 'musician' at journeyman level would receive 12 quarters each year. |
| Scholar Skills | |

| These skills give your character detailed knowledge of a single field or topic of study. Characters with this skill may submit research requests on their chosen topic at the main Lorien Trust events and will receive detailed answers. There is no limit to the number of scholar skills you can purchase, but individual topics may only be purchased once. Each topic or area costs 40 OSP's and a list of available topics can be obtained from Games Control. Please remember that compiling the information you require takes time and that the amount of information you receive may vary, depending on the subject you have chosen. | |

| A character with this skill is immune to all spells, powers and abilities of fumble, which would otherwise cause them to drop any indicated item held in one or both hands. | |
| Light Armour Mastery | |

| A character using this skill gains an extra point of armour value while using light armour. This is in addition to the one point of protection that light armour normally grants. The extra hit counts in every way as normal armour and is repaired as normal at the rate of one point per minute. This skill can be combined with magically enhanced armour. This skill does not work with any medium or heavy armour. | |

| This skill represents a character being a very good source of information. The character has lots of contacts within Erdreja. This skill grants all of the general knowledge lore sheets. Some times this skill will also grant additional knowledge, rumour or lore sheets dependant upon the time and location. |
| Sage Skills | |

| The sage skill gives your character a deep understanding of one field or area. Characters with this skill may submit one research request per year on their chosen sage topic at one of the main Lorien Trust events and will receive comprehensive answers. the sage skill may only be purchased once, although characters may submit a different request relating to their topic each year. This skill costs 60 OSP's and suggestions for appropriate topics can be obtained from Games Control. Please remember that compiling the information you require takes time and that the amount of information you receive may vary, depending on the subject you have chosen. Sage is a restricted skill; only a certain number of characters may have this skill at any one time. | |
| @Memory of the Bard | |
| Pre-requisites:None | |
| This skill allows the character to study a single sheet of an in character document, map or musical manuscript for thirty seconds of uninterrupted concentration and then take an out of character copy of the document. Each extra page studied requires a further thirty seconds of concentration up to a maximum of six pages (3 minutes). If the character's concentration is broken at any time, they must begin studying the current page again. No document may be taken for copying without the out of character permission of the owner. If a document is taken away for copying it must be returned no later than half an hour after they are borrowed. Characters should copy documents by hand wherever possible, although photocopies may be taken with the owner's prior permission. |
| Written Forgery | |

| A character with this skill is able to create forged documents. The character must be in the guilds area at the Heartland Games, Faction Moots or Gathering to use this skill and may forge three documents at the Heartland Games, two at each Moot and three at the Gathering. No forged documents can be created at sanctioned events. |
| Calming Word | |

| This skill gives the character the ability to detect and remove all beguile effects. To detect if an individual is under the influence of a beguile, the character must engage them in sensible conversation for at least thirty seconds during which the character must inform the individual that they are using the calming word skill. To remove a detected beguile, the character must continue the conversation for at least a further ten minutes. At the end of this period, all effects of the beguile are cancelled. If the character's concentration is broken at any time during either the detection of the removal of a beguile, they must start again. | |

| This skill can only be used whilst performing. Once the performance has begun, the character using the skill may not move more than ten feet from their starting point. this skill allows the character and any other performers within a ten foot radius of the character when they begin performing to resist the effects of halt, distract,fumble, mute, fear, mass fear, and the strikedown spell until the song, story or act has finished. Physical strikedown or any other physical attack against the character who began the harmony will cancel the protection, if this is the case harmony may not be restarted for a further 30 seconds. |

| A character with this skill is immune to all mind affecting spells, powers and abilities. This includes beneficial effects such as courage. This skill confers no immunity to psionic spells, abilities or effects. | |

| A character with this skill has travelled to such an extent that they have contacts and friends all over the world. The character may request detailed information on any subject from the head of plot or members of the plot team at the Heartland Games, Faction Moots and Gathering. The information requested must relate to a subject the character has discussed whilst in character. This skill can only be used at sanctioned events with the prior permission of the organisers. | |
